A bit of cross training today, in a heavily jumping/ eventing centred Coaching Convention with the British Horse Society featuring Yogi Breisner and William Fox Pitt. Lots of good tips and the consistency in the importance in the quality of the rider’s basic aids and the horse’s response to them made for a great day.
Vidauban CDI: (Feb 29-Mar 4, 2012)
Had a fantastic time in the sunshine at the Vidauban CDI in southern France competing Desiderata (Blondie) in our first International Grand Prix. Though the first test had several (very) big hiccups, we managed to redeem ourselves in the second with a cleaner test. Find out more about our journey on Blondie’s Facebook page. A big thank you to husband Miles Patience and Blondie’s owner Becky Whitcombe for their company and help on the trip.
I will be riding for Arthur Kottas, one of the world’s best trainers, as part of his dressage visit at Contessa Riding Centre.
Arthur Kottas is a leading authority on dressage training. He was born in Vienna in 1945 and joined the Spanish Riding School as a trainee in 1960. He became the Chief Rider in 1981 and Riding Master in 1983. Arthur was then First Chief Rider from 1995 until he retired in 2002. Since his retirement Arthur has been in great demand as a trainer around the world.
This is a fantastic opportunity to watch. Tickets available at http://contessariding.co.uk/index.php/events-calendar/
