Talk at Retraining of Racehorses camp at Hickstead

Sarah Sjoholm-Patience International Grand Prix Dressage Rider, British Horse Society Accredited Coach and British Dressage Para Coach and Trainer

I am delighted to have been asked to give a talk on “Finding your independent seat and an elastic contact” as part of the gala dinner at the Retraining of Racehorses South East camp at Hickstead on July 11th.  This annual event is an ideal opportunity for owners of ex-racehorses to come together and learn new skills and share experiences and takes place 10th to 14th July.

I will be talking about aligning the rider’s body to sit in balance so that they can move in harmony with their horse and deliver their aids more effectively. I will also talk about how to develop and have an elastic, harmonious and effective contact.

The Retraining of RacehorsesSouth East Camp 19 is for everyone, no matter what their experience or confidence levels are and offers ground and ridden work specific to retraining ex-racehorses. The camp includes flatwork, polework and jumping lessons, the opportunity of an individual lesson with horseman Tom Mitchell or a group mounted games/polo crosse with Tom. There will also be Trec Training sessions, saddle fitting and lots more.
